Sometimes it can be difficult to know what we actually do as a committee! This page is here to help you understand what we are trying to achieve and to encourage you to join us where you can.
We run fundraising events for parents to enjoy and subsidised events for the children to enjoy all with the aim of raising money for the children at school. The funds that we collect are then spent on equipment, consumables or services for the pupils to use and enjoy.
Our role is to support the leadership team at the school and to fill gaps in budgets where we can – something that you can imagine is an increasing reality in today’s climate.
Last year, in 2015/16 we raised £11,600 through a number of great events. A huge well done and thank you to everyone who helped in any way.
We raised this through some really fun events… a sponsorship day where the PTA raised money themselves alongside the school, two kids’ discos, Xmas Bazaar and the Summer Circus Festival to name a few. We sold some great items too… like Christmas Tea Towels, lots of Cakes, and Icecream in the Summer term.
In 2015/16 we spent £18,000* on the school and its pupils!
Our most obvious purchase is the wonderful new playground equipment that the kids can now enjoy. The PTA funded a massive £15,000 towards this. We also funded small items that make school fun which included a Christmas Gift from Santa for every child, a class grant for every class at the beginning of the year, a class grant for every class at Christmas, The Y4 Dance Performance, and the Y6 Leaving Prom which totalled £3000. (*This was possible because the PTA had a £12,000 in the bank, carried over from the 14/15 period))
In 2016/17 we had ambitious plans too. We had already paid £5500 for a Playground Tyre Trail, funded music lessons, and allocated funds to launch the eagerly anticipated forest school which all Reception children enjoyed.
To continue to meet these goals we really do need your help. Please have a look on our “Ways to help” page to find out if there is anything you can do. Thank you for your support!!!
